Carlisle Baxter stood in the hall way of the unmarked chamber, the one place in this building where captured creatures sat. He looked them over, the florescent lights making the vampires look more pale. He watched one that they had, it was female, tall, long blond hair. She was pretty much like his ex-wife was years ago. Hat is not saying he still did not find his ex-wife attractive, Maria was still pretty, just not the same sense the vampire was. No, a vampire did not have to worry about aging the same a human did. They did not have to worry about how the human body breaks down the longer it lives. Enhanced with powers that make humans drawn to them, brighter sharper eyes, pale almost porcelain skin, an enhanced beauty that Carlisle wanted to break down. Find out what keeps them at this stopped age, what allows them to be strong, quick and almost indestructible.
He knew the flaw in these creatures, how they can be killed with the simple means of fire or the sun. That was something else that confused him, what was it that caused their skin to burn like paper to fire or the sun. Could it be the heat, their pale skin more sensitive to the acts of burring then a humans?
He had many questions like these about vampires. Another creature he envied were pure-blood shape shifters for the simple fact at age 21 they did not age anymore.
That was what he was after, the sole reason he stayed at night or sat in his office at home, why he started to drift away from Jarade. He did not want to age anymore, he did not want to succumb to the aliments that old age brought, not to feel weak. If he could find that one thing in their DNA that would give him the ability to never age, to never physically grow old. He saw what aging did to his father and Grandfather, forgetting more and more everyday, getting slower, till his heart finally stopped.
To Carlisle death was not what he was afraid of, what he feared was that he would lose his brilliant mind. He knew it would happen to him. The disease known as Alzheimer was in his genetic, Jarade was a risk of this as well.
Would he still be human if he did not age, would he have to go into hiding from ASACO. That might be what he would have to do, but after a while maybe. Or not at all, he might be able to work there forever.
A smirk came to his lips as he watched the female vampire look right back at him.
